Aqueous Film Forming Foam

Aqueous Film Forming Foam

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) FIRE FIGHTINGFOAM is a type
of fire extinguishing agent that is commonly used tocombat fires
involving flammable liquids such as gasoline, dieselfuel, and oil.
AFFF works by forming a thin film on the surface of thefuel, which
separates the fuel from the air and prevents the fire fromspreading.
AFFF is typically used in firefighting applications such asfuel
storage facilities, airports, and industrial sites.
It is a unique combination of fluorochemical and hydrocarbon
surfactant with C6 technology along with solvent, stabilizers, and
preservatives to have a superior fire knockdown performance on all
types of hydrocarbon fires.

ENVIRONMENTAL

AFFF foams are made of using short chain (C6) surfactants that utilize the verylatest in
fire-fighting foam technologies, developed and utilized specially to lower theenvironmental
impact than C8 surfactants without reducing performance. AFFF 3% is non-toxicand
biodegradable and each individual component is fully tested and documented.

APPLICATIONS

AFFF -1%/3%/6% is a specific type of Aqueous Film Forming Foam that contains a required
concentration of a synthetic fluorinated surfactant according to the proportioning device. This
type of AFFF is designed to be used on hydrocarbon fuel fires, such as those involving gasoline,
diesel fuel, and oil. AFFF is effective at extinguishing fires by forming a foam blanket on the surface
of the fuel, which helps to cool the fuel and prevent re-ignition.
Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) has a wide range of applications in the field of fire
suppression and firefighting. Some of the most common applications of AFFF like Fuel storage
facilities,Aviation & Marine Industries ,Industrial Sites ,Municipal services

SUITABLE PROPORTIONING DEVICE

A proportioning device is used to mix Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) concentrate with water
to create a foam solution that can be used to suppress fires. It can be used with several types of
AFFF proportioning devices like in-line inductors, different types of foam branches, and foam
monitors, including in-line balanced proportioners, ratio flow controllers, and trade proportioners.
They work by using a venturi device to mix the AFFF concentrate with water in a balanced pressure
system. The proportioner is installed in the water supply line and is designed to operate at a specific
flow rate. As water flows through the proportioner, it creates a vacuum that draws the AFFF
concentrate into the water stream, creating a foam solution.
Overall, the choice of AFFF proportioning device will depend on the specific needs of the
application and the flow rate of the water supply. It is important to select a proportioning device
that is compatible with the AFFF concentrate being used and to follow the manufacturer’s
instructions for proper installation and operation.

COMPATIBILITY

1. AFFF is compatible with soft, hard, brackish, or salt water. It can be used incombination with
Dry powder extinguishing agents either separately or as twin agent systems.
It is recommended not to use AFFF with other manufacturers’ foam concentrateexcept for use
in emergency situations

2. It is important to note that AFFF should not be used on fires involving polar solvents, such as
alcohol or ketones, as it may be ineffective or even dangerous.
